Chicago is #1 destination for July 4th, 2010

Chicago's Millennium Park is the top destination for July 4, 2010, according to my annual survey of the most popular places for the upcoming holiday weekend.

The win for Chicago was somewhat bittersweet since New Orleans, the #1 spot last year, fell 25 places on this year's list to #26, probably due to fallout from the oil spill.  The Big Easy had been making steady progress in regaining its tourist momentum since Hurricane Katrina, so here's hoping things get back on track again soon.
