Another good reason to travel in 2009Pauline Frommer called me the other day to check out what was happening with published-price airfares. I thought I'd share my response with you. The average domestic fare this year, for travel between March 15 and August 31, is approximately 11% lower than it was last year. It has moved from an average of $319 to $284. The average international fare for the same dates is approximately 14% lower than last year, moving from an average $692 to $597. So, if you're wondering if there are any airfare deals out there for spring and summer travel, the answer is - yes. Check out the deals yourself on Priceline's airline ticketing service.
