I left my heart (and my wallet) in San Francisco

Pop quiz - Compared to last week, how much more do you think you'll pay this week for roundtrip airfare from Chicago to San Francisco?  5%?  10%?  How about 21%.

It's not the biggest increase I've seen since Priceline began publishing its airfare index, but it caught my attention.  Each week, I ask our air tickets pricing analysts to give me the six routes that increased the most in price week over week, and the six that dropped by the biggest percentages.

This week, there were bigger increases than decreases pretty much across the board.  And the airfare spikes were mostly to warm weather destinations.  So it looks like, with the February holidays and Spring Break season almost here, airfares are starting to inch back up.
