Top party spots for New Years Eve

Want to know where to find the crowds this New Year's Eve or how to avoid them?   Either way, you've come to the right place.  Each year, The Travel Ekspert looks at a sampling of more than 30,000 Name Your Own Price hotel room booking requests made by priceline.com customers to determine the hottest party spots for New Year's Eve.

There's still time to snag a last-minute half-price hotel room for New Year's Eve, including hotels in many of the exciting destinations shown below.

When I saw this year's top destinations, I was a bit surprised.  Of course, the traditional hot-spots, like New York, Las Vegas, New Orleans and Miami were all there.  Same with the family friendly destinations, like Orlando and Philadelphia, that offer fireworks and parades.  The list had a number of driveable big city destinations that probably appeal to budget-minded revelers who want to save the airfare.  The surprise was the presence on the list of exotic and more expensive fly-in destinations, like Aruba, Sydney, Paris and Hawaii.  These destinations weren't high on the list, but some travelers are still planning to celebrate the New Year in a big way.
